NanoSolveIT IATA: PBPK models and integration with the occupational exposure model |
Short description
This web application enables the use of PBPK models
developed in the context of the NanoSolveIT project for
simulating the biodistribution of nanoparticles in
humans as a result of exposure via the inhalation route.
External exposure scenarios can be defined directly by
the user or simulated through integration with the
NanoSolveIT occupational exposure model, illustrating
the combination of various nanoinformatics tools
available through the NanoSolveIT computational
infrastructure. This version contains a PBPK model for
TiO2 nanoparticles. Additional PBPK models will be
implemented in the next release of the tool.
External exposure: The user can use the Multi-box Human Exposure model output or define a custom-made scenario.
Internal exposure: Mass-time profiles are simulated using a PBPK model. Plots visualizing the results in various compartments are automatically generated.
